When BMW Ireland dropped the new X5 into Carzone for the team to test it, there was much excitement around the office. To many, the X5 is the quintessential luxury SUV, oozing with road presence and scoring high on the desirability scale, so needless to say, there was a long que of those waiting to take if for a drive! In the week that the X5 spent at Carzone, it was used on different roads, in varying conditions and for various uses. From weddings to commuting, carrying promotional stands and school runs and even a spot of mild off-roading, it turned into a comprehensive real-world test of sorts. Here are some comments from the team after spending time getting to know the X5; sounds like a resounding thumbs up!

Paul – “I got to drive the X5 for an evening and was impressed by its effortless and refined power delivery. My children loved the rear seat comfort and especially the ambient lighting. It had a huge spec which offered every conceivable comfort and convenience! I think I need about a week to properly appraise this!”

Mark – “The X5 gives a beautifully-connected drive. The panoramic sun roof was the icing on the cake. The dash and trim were fab.”

Mac – “The new BMW X5 provides in every possible aspect. From the way it looks and the way it handles, through to the quality of interior just to mention a few. So pleasant to drive, it is really easy to forget how big the new X5 is.”

Karl – “The X5 is even more impressive inside than it is on the outside, and it certainly turns heads in this spec. I love how refined the diesel engine is and the way it handles despite its size. Oh, and it’s fast!”
