A new year will soon be upon us, and the arrival of 2022 means the launch of 221 reg plates on new cars. Carzone is here with a round-up of the deals and special offers that are available to help you drive off the forecourt in a new 221-plate car.
No interest at all
A zero per cent interest rate is essentially a free loan, and that's what you get when financing an electric Renault Zoe. It's also available for the current Skoda Fabia or Scala, and the whole Volvo V60 estate line-up, as well as ICE and plug-in versions of the XC40 in R-Design or Inscription trim.
How low can you go?
If the zero per cent deals don't take your fancy, then 1.9 per cent APR is the next best thing if you're buying a new car. Citroen offers it across the line-up, while SEAT applies the rate to the Ibiza, Arona, Leon and Ateca ranges. Volvo XC40s in Momentum and Inscription Expression trim are available, as are the electric Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4, plus the T-Cross.
Moving up to the 2.9 per cent APR band, and you can bag yourself a 221-plate MG on PCP, or a MINI Clubman Cooper with Sport or Exclusive packs. The same rate is offered on Peugeot's electric e-208 and e-2008, the SEAT Tarraco SUV and Leon e-Hybrid, VW's popular Polo, Golf and Tiguan models, plus the Volvo XC60 and XC90 SUVs.
Special editions
Mazda has timed the arrival of the Homura edition with the 221-plate change. This trim has been added to the Mazda2, 3, 6, CX-30 and CX-5 ranges, while the Mazda3 and CX-30 versions have 3.9 per cent APR finance.
Deposit contributions
Fiat offers a different discount according to the model you're choosing on a 48-month PCP contract. Jeep has a €1,302 contribution towards the Renegade on 5.9 per cent APR finance, while Ford has up to €1,500 off the Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, Puma, Kuga, S-Max and Galaxy with 2.9 per cent APR finance.
Peugeot will give you up to €4,000 in ‘scrappage’ if you're trading in an older car, and Toyota has up to €2,500 off a Corolla, C-HR or Highlander when you trade in. Buy a Lexus UX, and you can get a €2,000 trade-in allowance.
Servicing offers
Save money on maintenance with a servicing package. The Hyundai Tucson comes with five years' free servicing, while Skoda and Toyota both offer three years' servicing across their respective ranges. SEAT lets you add a three-year plan for €9.99 extra a month, while sporty stablemate Cupra has a complimentary service pack with 2.9 per cent APR finance.
Electric incentive
Free home charger installations are designed to encourage buyers into EVs, and Kia offers one with the electric Kia Soul or e-Niro, along with the plug-in hybrid Ceed SW, XCeed and Niro. The Mazda MX-30 (on 5.9 per cent APR finance) or MG ZS EV (1.9 per cent APR finance) are also offered with a free wallbox.
