January is always the busiest time for new car sales in Ireland, notwithstanding the efforts to spread out registrations to the second number plate change in July. The Irish car buyer still likes to have their freshly-minted reg plate on the driveway at the start of the year, so this is the rush hour.

Even so, dealers have some tantalising deals in place for the early days of the 241-registration plate, keen to attract buyers into showrooms, or clicks on websites. Here’s our rundown of the best offers out there, in alphabetical order…

BMW Offers

BMW New Car Offers Ireland

BMW Ireland has a broad spread of 241 offers available, with PCP finance plans on a spread of 4.9, 5.9, and 6.4 per cent interest available across the range. Citroen Offers

Citreon C4X Price Ireland

Citroen is offering the new C4 and C4 X lineups with one year’s free motor tax and a 50 per cent discount on an inclusive servicing plan. Cupra Offers

CUPRA Born Price Ireland

The sporty Spanish brand has a zero per cent finance offer in place, which could put a new electric Born hatchback on your driveway from as little as €229 per month. The price of the Born has also been reduced, with €5,000 off the previous entry-level price, bringing it to €36,697. Dacia Offers

Dacia Duster Price Ireland

Dacias are always at the more affordable end of the motoring spectrum, and for the 241-registration period you can have a Duster crossover for €6.50 per day on finance (it’s a PCP deal that equates to €199 monthly payments on 6.9 per cent interest). Fiat 500 Electric Price Ireland

Fiat has reduced the price of its 500e electric hatchback to €27,495 and it also has a special offer in place until the end of January, which gives you the choice of 4.9 per cent interest on finance packages, inclusive three-year servicing package, three years’ free road tax, or a €500 deposit contribution. Ford Offers

Ford Puma Price Ireland

Ford has a pair of special offers in place for the compact Puma — one comes with 3.9 per cent interest finance, with monthly repayments starting from as little as €178 and a €2,500 discount on the price, or you can go for a lower €2,000 discount but get a lower interest rate — just 1.9 per cent — and monthly repayments of €168. There’s a similar offer for the Focus hatchback — €2,000 savings, 3.9 per cent interest, repayments from €221 — and the Kuga — €4,500 savings, 3.9 per cent interest, repayments of €253. Honda e Price Ireland

Honda’s only offer at the moment is for the Honda e electric hatchback, which comes with a free home charging point from Energia, and a 20 per cent discount on the cost of electricity if you switch your account to that supplier. Hyundai Offers

Hyundai Tucson Price Ireland

Hyundai has a number of offers in play for 241, and the most intriguing is a Hyundai insurance policy, which covers you for three years, and comes with one year free (up to a maximum cost of €700). Jeep has two offers available for 241 buyers — if you’re looking for a compact electric Avenger model, then you can choose between a 4.9 per cent interest finance package or a free home charging point from Energia. Nissan Qashqai Price Ireland

Nissan Ireland has a whole series of offers for the 241-registration period, starting with a €5,000 discount on the Nissan Leaf electric hatchback, which brings the price of that car down to €28,495 or €205 per month on a zero per cent interest finance offer. Then there’s the Nissan 2-4-1 offer, which if you buy a Juke, Qashqai, or X-Trail on a 241 plate, Nissan will take it back in 2025 and give you a brand-new car, of the same type, on a 251 plate for no extra cost. That offer also comes with a four-year warranty, four years’ roadside assistance and two years’ servicing. Like Cupra, Volkswagen has been chopping the prices of its electric models, so the ID.3 hatchback now has a starting price of €35,762. On a special 1.9 per cent PCP finance package, you can have an ID.3 for €249 per month. Want to upgrade to the bigger ID.4 crossover? That’s €319 per month on a 4.9 per cent finance package, while the sleeker ID.5 costs €389 per month on the same package. The dinky electric e-Up is also still available, and has a zero per cent finance offer, costing just €239 per month. The incoming new ID.7 electric saloon has a 6.9 per cent finance package and costs from €559 per month. Volvo Offers

Volvo EX30 Price Ireland

Volvo has just introduced its new EX30 electric crossover, and that’s available on a 5.95 per cent interest finance package for €557 per month, while the larger C40 (also electric-only) costs from €642 per month on a 3.9 per cent finance package. You could have the taller XC40 for slightly less on the same 3.9 per cent package at €608 per month. The massive EX90 seven-seat electric SUV, which hasn’t quite arrived yet, nonetheless is being offered on the same 5.95 per cent interest finance as the EX30, and costs from €1,266 per month.
