January is always the busiest time for new car sales in Ireland, notwithstanding the efforts to spread out registrations to the second number plate change in July. The Irish car buyer still likes to have their freshly-minted reg plate on the driveway at the start of the year, so this is the rush hour.
Even so, dealers have some tantalising deals in place for the early days of the 241-registration plate, keen to attract buyers into showrooms, or clicks on websites. Here’s our rundown of the best offers out there, in alphabetical order…
BMW Ireland has a broad spread of 241 offers available, with PCP finance plans on a spread of 4.9, 5.9, and 6.4 per cent interest available across the range. Standout examples include the new i5 eDrive 40 M Sport for €771 per month on a 5.9 per cent interest PCP; the iX3 with the 80kWh battery for €699 per month on 4.9 per cent PCP; a 330e plug-in hybrid for €565 per month on a 5.9 per cent PCP; and the iX1 eDrive20 for €439 per month on a 4.9 per cent PCP. > View BMWs For Sale in Ireland
The big-selling Chinese brand doesn’t have a specific 241 offer in place, but it does give you a complimentary home-charging wallbox with every car, and it does have the new Dolphin EV hatchback on sale from as little as €29,318 (with an even more affordable model on the way). > View BYDs For Sale in Ireland
Citroen is offering the new C4 and C4 X lineups with one year’s free motor tax and a 50 per cent discount on an inclusive servicing plan. There’s also 3.9 per cent interest finance available across the entire range (repayments starts from as little as €226 per month for a C3 hatchback and the electric e-C4 starts from €318 per month), and three years’ free servicing for the C5 Aircross and C5-X models. > View Citreons For Sale in Ireland
The sporty Spanish brand has a zero per cent finance offer in place, which could put a new electric Born hatchback on your driveway from as little as €229 per month. The price of the Born has also been reduced, with €5,000 off the previous entry-level price, bringing it to €36,697. Dacias are always at the more affordable end of the motoring spectrum, and for the 241-registration period you can have a Duster crossover for €6.50 per day on finance (it’s a PCP deal that equates to €199 monthly payments on 6.9 per cent interest). The seven-seat Jogger is available for, appropriately, €7.77 per day (that’s €236 per month on 6.9 per cent finance), while the smaller Sandero can be had for as little as €5 per day (€149 per month, 6.9 per cent interest) or you can upgrade to the Sandero Stepway for €5.50 per day (€167 per month, 6.9 per cent interest). > View Dacias For Sale in Ireland
Fiat has reduced the price of its 500e electric hatchback to €27,495 and it also has a special offer in place until the end of January, which gives you the choice of 4.9 per cent interest on finance packages, inclusive three-year servicing package, three years’ free road tax, or a €500 deposit contribution. Ford has a pair of special offers in place for the compact Puma — one comes with 3.9 per cent interest finance, with monthly repayments starting from as little as €178 and a €2,500 discount on the price, or you can go for a lower €2,000 discount but get a lower interest rate — just 1.9 per cent — and monthly repayments of €168. There’s a similar offer for the Focus hatchback — €2,000 savings, 3.9 per cent interest, repayments from €221 — and the Kuga — €4,500 savings, 3.9 per cent interest, repayments of €253. Honda’s only offer at the moment is for the Honda e electric hatchback, which comes with a free home charging point from Energia, and a 20 per cent discount on the cost of electricity if you switch your account to that supplier. Hyundai has a number of offers in play for 241, and the most intriguing is a Hyundai insurance policy, which covers you for three years, and comes with one year free (up to a maximum cost of €700). Jeep has two offers available for 241 buyers — if you’re looking for a compact electric Avenger model, then you can choose between a 4.9 per cent interest finance package or a free home charging point from Energia. Kia Ireland is offering low 1.9 per cent interest finance on its electric models, so you could get a Niro EV for as little as €385 per month, or the EV6 for €546 per month. EV and plug-in hybrid models also come with a free home charging point from Energia. There’s a special offer for the Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid, with 6.2 per cent interest finance and monthly repayments starting from €1,343, or you could have the smaller Range Rover Velar on the same finance offer for €1,055 per month. Mazda Ireland has fixed-rate interest finance packages available, with a choice of 4.9 per cent, 5.9 per cent and 6.9 per cent rates. MG is offering up to €2,500 off the price of the MG 4 electric hatchback, the MG ZS electric crossover and the MG 5 electric estate, with finance packages starting from 2.9 per cent interest rate. Nissan Ireland has a whole series of offers for the 241-registration period, starting with a €5,000 discount on the Nissan Leaf electric hatchback, which brings the price of that car down to €28,495 or €205 per month on a zero per cent interest finance offer. Then there’s the Nissan 2-4-1 offer, which if you buy a Juke, Qashqai, or X-Trail on a 241 plate, Nissan will take it back in 2025 and give you a brand-new car, of the same type, on a 251 plate for no extra cost. That offer also comes with a four-year warranty, four years’ roadside assistance and two years’ servicing. About to switch its name from Ora to GWM Ora, the Chinese brand is currently offering its Funky Cat hatchback (also about to be renamed, as the GWM Ora 03) for €199 per month on a 2.99 per cent interest finance package. Peugeot Ireland is offering a blanket 2.9-to-3.9 per cent interest finance package across all of its models, and if you buy one of its electric or plug-in hybrid cars, you’ll also get a complimentary home charger installation from Energia, as well as 20 per cent of the cost of electricity from that supplier. There’s also a five-year warranty and three years’ free servicing with all models. Renault’s headline offer is a €3,500 discount off the price of the all-electric Megane hatchback, which is available on 4.9 per cent interest finance with monthly repayments starting from €225 per month. That offer includes a five-year warranty. SEAT might have become overshadowed, a bit, by Cupra but it still has some very good value offers for 241, including an across-the-range choice of 3.9 per cent PCP finance or zero per cent hire purchase, both of which include three years’ worth of tyre insurance, inclusive servicing and roadside assistance. Skoda has special finance packages in place, ranging from as little as 1.9 per cent interest on a PCP plan for the Enyaq electric SUV (monthly repayments start from €339 per month and include a two-year tyre and maintenance plan) to 5.9 per cent interest for an Octavia which has monthly repayments starting from €309 per month with three years’ free servicing included. Toyota is offering some of its most popular models with 5.9 per cent interest finance, so you can have a Yaris Cross for €223 per month, or a Corolla from €256 per month. The Corolla Cross is on a higher rate package, at 6.9 per cent, with monthly repayments starting from €304 per month, or if you want to go electric there’s a special 3.9 per cent interest finance package for the bZ4X with repayments starting from €423 per month. Like Cupra, Volkswagen has been chopping the prices of its electric models, so the ID.3 hatchback now has a starting price of €35,762. On a special 1.9 per cent PCP finance package, you can have an ID.3 for €249 per month. Want to upgrade to the bigger ID.4 crossover? That’s €319 per month on a 4.9 per cent finance package, while the sleeker ID.5 costs €389 per month on the same package. The dinky electric e-Up is also still available, and has a zero per cent finance offer, costing just €239 per month. The incoming new ID.7 electric saloon has a 6.9 per cent finance package and costs from €559 per month. Volvo has just introduced its new EX30 electric crossover, and that’s available on a 5.95 per cent interest finance package for €557 per month, while the larger C40 (also electric-only) costs from €642 per month on a 3.9 per cent finance package. You could have the taller XC40 for slightly less on the same 3.9 per cent package at €608 per month. The massive EX90 seven-seat electric SUV, which hasn’t quite arrived yet, nonetheless is being offered on the same 5.95 per cent interest finance as the EX30, and costs from €1,266 per month.
