Polestar Chooses Ohme as Official Charging Partner in Ireland

Polestar has taken a significant step by partnering with award-winning dynamic smart charging company Ohme as its official charging partner in Ireland.

This collaboration highlights the essential role that Polestar plays in shaping the electric vehicle landscape, as the company now recommends Ohme chargers for all its sales to support EV drivers seeking a reliable charging solution.

David Watson, CEO at Ohme, expressed, "Our new collaboration with Polestar underscores Ohme's position as one of Ireland's fastest-growing dynamic EV charging companies. Polestar has been a trailblazer in introducing luxury electric vehicles under an entirely new brand. With Ohme's cutting-edge technology empowering drivers to maximize the potential of their EVs, the partnership between Ohme and Polestar is a natural fit."

Jonathan Goodman, Head of Polestar UK & Ireland, shared his enthusiasm: "We are delighted to be working with Ohme as our recommended home charger supplier for our Irish owners. Ohme's award-winning smart chargers and their dedication to exceptional customer service align seamlessly with Polestar's core values and culture. This partnership enables us to offer customers significant cost savings and a comprehensive EV package – pairing a Polestar performance electric vehicle with a charging solution that perfectly complements it."

Ohme, headquartered in Cork and London, is renowned for its dynamic smart chargers equipped with unique software that can automatically adjust charging schedules to take advantage of low-cost off-peak tariffs. As a result, charging a Polestar 2 Long Range Single motor with a 78kWh battery using an Ohme smart charger on an off-peak electricity tariff could cost just €216.60 for driving 10,000kms over a year, in stark contrast to the €700.15 cost on the Standard Tariff*.

Ohme's recent accolades, including being named Fast Track Company of the Year in the 2023 Green Business Awards and receiving recognition as the Best Electric Charging Point Provider by Business Motoring, underscore their commitment to innovation in the EV charging sector.

In a market where Electric Ireland offers Night Boost at 12.65c/kWh and Standard Rate at 40.89c/kWh, Ohme's solution provides a compelling value proposition for EV drivers.
